Today I got notified about some Intelinet Smart Security software (intelinet-global.com). A friend of mine could not decide if its rogue or not at first. Well, some diging around and we found who owns it, and it was not even hard : they used netcom3.com domain email while registering the new one. Remember Netcom3 guys [...]

XP Protection Center is a new rogue anti-spyware program – a fake spyware remover, which tries to trick the user into purchasing it’s “licensed version” by intimidating him. This parasite typically enters the system in two ways: by using the Zlob trojan, or by manual download and installation from it’s website. XP Protection Center will [...]

Boonex is an assembly of social site php scripts including chats, forum and the site itself. As we work on several social sites this year, we have chosen boonex as starting platform to build things upon and kinda regret it now. I wrote a post about newscloud a year ago and about pligg. I was in Hurghada (Egypt) for a week and i have to tell that it was fabulous. Both the resort and country have surpased my expectations and washed out all the thoughts about the work. I have stayed in Sunrise Royal Markadi hotel, 30 kilometres from Hurghada. Hurghada itself was a small fishing village 30 [...]

Its installer is distributed with fake video codex “required” to view movies in torrent or porn sites or other presumably usefull software. You wont get to see a movie after installing it (go to the cinema for that), but your [...]

I used jedit as php editor of choice for quite a while. Although it is java-based, its features and plugins make it suitable for php as well. Additionally, its not very large, and it is quite suitable for php editing jobs What I like most, many of the useful stuff is available as plugins. Without [...]

I have to admit that Komodo Edit 4.4 is the editor I use the most for editing and developing. What I like is code collapsing/expanding, quite nice syntax help, also SSH2 support, which is a must for any editor. Additionally, it is free (there is a paid Komodo IDE version too). Overall, quite nice tool. [...]

Last weekend I had to do virus/spyware removal on my parent computers. They relied on EZ firewall/antivirus which, in my personal opinion, is not so good tool (polite way to say it is crap). But oh well. The infection – some downloaders, probably gotten from infected flash, a backdoor, adware which caused explorer to crash [...]
